Good to be Home

It's good to be home, great food, acceptable weather and despite no surf, great fun. Seen so many old faces over the last 2 weeks it seems like a non stop reunion. Although I have spent my total 8 week budget in the last 2 weeks (resulting in me getting some weekend bar work) I'm looking forward to another 6 weeks of catch ups, family time and hopefully a couple of surfs at my local breaks. I don't tend to miss much when I'm abroad but the moment I'm home I certainly realize what I have been missing out on.

Broadband
Bowling
Casinos
Nans Cake
Dogs that don't have rabies and scabs
A full fridge
Parents' stash of alcohol
Roads you can skate on
Friends (and their babies)
My vinyl collection

Another pleasant surprise was London, my perception of London was completely flip reversed, as before I could never envisage living away from the ocean, this time round I was completely immersed in the buzz and everything else London has to offer. London and Taghazout are certainly chalk and cheese but for the few months I'm in the UK each year I could certainly spend a little more time there. I'll be off to France in 6 weeks and will be there for the duration of the season (5 months with the exception of an old friends wedding), then UK for 2 weeks, Morocco for 3 months, Sri Lanka for 2 and then 2 months somewhere yet to be decided. I feel I'm over the traveling a little and certainly over living out of a suitcase (I say suitcase but mean board bag) yet I know my lifestyle will soon catch up to all my friends back home and I'll be engaged, mortgaged and with children on the way very soon so I think I'll bust out at least one more stint.
