Anyone who has checked the surf in Bournemouth today will undoubtedly be questioning if its worth battling with the wind, cold and rip for 3ft of onshore slop....I, however am frothing from the mouth at the prospect of surfing such waves, a pleasant reprieve after a few months of warm water perfection in France, Bali and Morocco. Once again I shall be dusting of the winter wetsuit and enjoying the restrictive 5mm of Ripcurl's finest.
I leave to manage the www.moroccosurftrips.com camp in 3 days, and already have started to psyche myself up for long right hand points and the usual big winter swells cascading upon Morocco at this time of year, the 7ft gun is packed, the extra leashes and warm water wax stocked up and the 3mm wetsuits ready to don. But for now my mind is on one thing, bournemouth Pier, 3ft slop and the undoubtedly crappy but unique surf that so many fellow grovelers in my home town seem to enjoy. The surf in Morocco is perfect but the surf in Bournemouth can also be as much fun!
Lastly as this is my first blogspot post maybe I should explain my actions, I update the moroccosurftrips.com blog and thought maybe I should do my own, currently I am my only viewer, which in a way makes this weird but hopefully over time you guys shall tune into this for the unrated (and unnofficial) blog from starsurfcamps.com and moroccosurftrips.com
Stay salted!
